Technical Analysis

Is the systematic method of analyzing financial instruments, including securities, futures and interest rate products, with only market-delivered information such as price, volume, volatility and open interest. The tools of technical analysis are measurements and derivatives of price, for example, on-balance volume, price oscillators, momentum measurements and pattern recognition. A Technical Analyst applies such tools for forecasting and timing the trading and investing in financial instruments. Technical Analysis is a universal discipline.


 

 


Globally, the Technical Analysis industry is represented by the International Federation of Technical Analysts, USA (IFTA) and The Association of Technical Analysts (ATA) being an affiliated society of IFTA represents this industry in India.

As part of the ATA's objective of promoting greater use and understanding of technical analysis education, ATA's Education Committee have launched the professional course in Technical Analysis for both beginner and experienced analysts.

The main aim of the ATA's Certification is to certify that the candidate acquires the professional knowledge, understanding, and skills to pursue a career as a Technical Analyst in the Financial Services industry.


 

 


ATA Offers two certification for member

  1. CeTA offered by ATA, India
  2. CFTe offered by IFTA

CERTIFIED TECHNICAL ANALYST (CeTA) CERTIFICATION

The CeTA Certification consists of Two Exam which together constitutes a complete professional program. Passing both exam examinations culminates in an award of a world class professional qualification in Technical Analysis.

The exams are intended to test not only your technical skills knowledge but your understanding of the ethics and the market.

The Certification is designed for self-study and divided into two exams.

Level I.

  1. Pattern: This multiple-choice exam consists of 120 questions covering a wide range of technical knowledge, but usually not involving actual experience.
  2. Duration of Exam: 2 hours only
  3. Marks: 120

Level II.

  1. Pattern: This exam incorporates a number of questions requiring an essay based analysis and answers. For this, the candidate should demonstrate a depth of knowledge and experience in applying various methods of technical analysis.
  2. Duration of Exam: 3 hours only
  3. Marks: 120

Admission & Eligibility

The admission process is open round the year.

Note : Only member of ATA may appears for these exams.


Registration
ATA may arrange for additional exam locations in different cities, on group basis, upon request. At least one candidates are required for the same. The cost for a site and for proctoring must be borne by the candidate.

Certified Financial Technician (CFTe)

Examinations
